Fan Mail

I know we’ve all had days where we were in a bad mood or nothing seemed to be going our way.  I hate those days.  This is not one of those days.  Sometimes one little act of kindness or thoughtfulness from someone else can really turn your whole day around.  One of my coworkers had given a paperback copy of The Nutt Family:  An Acorny Adventure to his mom.  She just so happened to be a first grade schoolteacher.  She read the book to her class recently and today I was delivered an envelope containing my very first fan mail.  Each child had written me a note and a picture about my book.  You have no idea how touched I was by this gesture.  I literally had to go in the bathroom and cry and thank God for all the blessings that surround me.  Sometimes we forget what is important…..what matters.  Sometimes we get distracted by things we shouldn’t.  A little fan mail from little readers does wonders for your soul.

Check out some of these amazing letters.  This is why I write children’s stories.  I also want to say a  big “Thank You” to all the teachers out there.  You guys are amazing!

That was such a sweet gesture on the part of the teacher. The really, really great thing is that you know fan mail from a little kid is 100% sincere 🙂 Cherish those moments! Candice

Those are adorable. You should frame them and put them up near wherever you work. Great reminder/motivator/inspiration! Also excited to find your book.

  4. Isn’t it wonderful to know your book was so enjoyed by a classroomful of children? That is high praise indeed. What wonderful notes and drawings. And I’m glad to have been introduced to your book!

The book looks like a good read aloud. We will try it during the school year!
